Southdown House is a real gem of an historical Grade II listed property in Nonington. Believed to have originally been constructed in the 16th century it was the local butcher’s shop until the 1970s and the name ‘Southdown’ almost certainly relates to one of the butchers who resided there and specialised in the fattening of Southdown sheep.
