Alongside its many antique shops, there is the orthodox church of Saint Michael built according to traditional Russian architecture and consecrated in 2005.

Altea has a reputation for its famous restaurants located in the Old Town and along the wonderful seafront promenade offering both Mediterranean cooking and international cuisine. In August you can enjoy the magnificent Castell de L'Olla, an unforgettable and spectacular firework display that is launched from platforms at sea an experience not to be missed.
