Macadamia farm under irrigation ±1.8km south of Malelane town
This farm, in extent of 36.4864 hectares, has previously been utilised for sugar cane farming. It consists of newly established macadamias, three years old on average. The remainder of the property includes seed cane, fall out land and roads. A public gravel road in good condition provides access to the farm. The predominant soil type is Hutton, with 15 - 30% clay measuring about 120 cm deep. Annual summer rainfall measures about 850mm.
The 33.03 hectares of macadamias consist of different varieties and total to 10169 trees. This includes Nelmack2 on 17,59 hectares (5489 trees), A4 on 5,86 hectares (1831 trees), 816 on 4.11 hectares (1283 trees), 814 on 3,94 hectares (1089 trees) and Beaumont on 1.53 hectares (421 trees). The planting distance between trees is 8 x 4 meters.

The farm offers functional infrastructure to support the present irrigated fields (macadamias). The farm is situated at an altitude of between 325 and 350 metres above sea level. It is subject to typical Lowveld climate conditions. The topography is fairly gentle with only slight slopes / contours from south to north. Small fall out areas exists. Soil cover is generally good with no serious proportions of soil erosion.

The farm has been improved with an old dwelling in a rather poor condition which is currently used as a store and one borehole. The orchards are equipped with micro irrigation and water is available from the canal fed by the Crocodile River. Water is extracted from the canal and directly reticulated to the orchards. The farm has listed water rights of 32.6 ha (or 423 800m³) from the Crocodile River. These are managed by the 'Crocodile River Major Irrigation Board'. Water rights amount to 13 671m³ per ha per year based on the 31ha macadamias and 423 800m³ available water. This is considered sufficient to irrigate the existing orchards successfully.
