"We loved the area, as it is beautifully treed and central to great facilities, with easy access to Rosebank, Parkview Village, Sandton, Hyde Park and Killarney Mall. As a registered tour guide and my vision was to build a business for my children, as they were in the tourism industry owning busses and with introductions to overseas guests, the dream was for a boutique hotel and an integrated tourism business.

The plan started to take shape in 2006,Peter Koekoemoor was the architect appointed to design the north wing with five luxury en-suite bedrooms and garages, including the dining room and kitchen.

In 2007 the east wing was built and included the large conference- and two smaller meeting rooms and plus three luxury double bedrooms, below this two additional luxury bedrooms, kitchen and lounge was added. The cosy thatch cottage had an open-plan lounge dining room a with fireplace, one en-suite bedroom upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs.

Currently we now have 11 en-suites bedrooms all fully fitted with cupboards, small safes, fridges, air-cons, kettles and trays for tea and coffee. In 2010 the guest house was home to Brazilian journalists, reporters, TV and newspaper reporters, for almost two months entertaining up to 50 people using the lapa and dining room for the duration of the Soccer World Cup. The board room was used for radio and TV transmissions back to Brazil. The small meeting rooms were used for media meetings.

We have achieved our dream with this guesthouse and are ready for the next part of our journey."
