The Fine & Country Foundation has seen its most successful year yet, with over £140,000 raised for homeless charities and projects in the UK and abroad. We are looking back on the highlights from the past 12 months and looking forward to the exciting events and fundraisers that we have planned for next year.
Your hard work and contributions are helping The Fine & Country Foundation to get even closer to raising our £1,000,000 target. We couldn’t do it without the amazing support from our Fine & Country offices, clients and supporters.
Matthew Pryke, Trustee and lawyer of The Fine & Country Foundation conquered the Gobi March challenge. Matthew ran seven marathons in six days across the Gobi Desert and raised £3,715 for our grant pot.
Our trek to Everest Base Camp in October was a huge success. The team of seven battled through Acute Mountain Sickness and treacherous terrain to reach their goal and raise £32,000 to fund a further 20 houses in Nepal. See what happened when they went to visit the village here.
Fine & Country Bury St Edmunds rode 200 miles from their office to York in just two and a half days and raised an incredible £1,837 for our grant pot.
The Fine & Country Gold Cup in July saw another wonderful year of gourmet foods, luxury champagne and, of course, highly entertaining polo. The event raised £5,000 for our grant pot. We are looking for to next year’s event on Saturday 7th July which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
Across the country, Fine & Country offices opened their doors with cake and coffee in-hand for the annual Fine & Country Foundation coffee morning. Clients, friends and families joined us for a cup of tea, a tasty treat and a chat to help raise money and awareness of homelessness. With your help, we raised £1,880.41 for our grant pot. Join us next year on Thursday 17th May.
Who we support
Over the past year, The Fine & Country Foundation has worked with a number of local homeless charities and learnt about the projects and schemes they have to help the most vulnerable in our society.
Nationally, our partnership with the End Youth Homelessness campaign has seen offices across the country take part in Sleep Outs and mud runs for its member charities. In November 2018, The Fine & Country Foundation is looking forward to seeing even more people join in the Sleep Outs which has raised over £500,000 for the campaign’s nine member charities.
Internationally, we are continuing to fund the Happy Home for Girls in Bangladesh which looks after 150 girls from ages six to 18, in partnership with ActionAid. The second international project is our housing programme in Nepal. The Fine & Country Foundation is rebuilding a village in Nepal which was destroyed by earthquakes in 2015. In October, a trek to Everest Base Camp saw £32,000 raised to fund a further 20 houses. See all the latest updates from the village here.
Would you like to sponsor a family in Nepal? £1,600 will fund a new house. You will receive photos and videos from your family, hear their story and get to know them. Please contact email@example.com or call 020 3368 8221 for more information.
