The total value of sales over the past year has been £869m with 22 sales at or over £1m.
While some areas in the North East have seen a decrease in the average property price others have performed extremely well. South Shields has seen a 4% decrease and Bishop Auckland has had a 3% decrease in the average house price, while Gateshead has seen an impressive 13% increase. The average price in Newcastle has increased by 11%, Darlington has increased by 8% and Stockton-On-Tees has increased by 7%.
The highest premium threshold in the North East is in Durham at £403,000, with Newcastle not far behind at £400,000.
