Summer Housing Market Report: South West Region

Key Statistics

In the South West region, the average price of property is £825,165, which represents a marginal 5.21% annual change. The premium price threshold in the South West is £600,000, which means that the top 5% of sales in the region were above this figure. Over the last 12 months the average price per square foot has been around £403. The total value of sales over the past year has been £3.86 billion with 752 sales at or over £1 million.

The South West Premium Market

Apart from Plymouth and Exeter, all other areas within the South West have seen an increase in the average property price. Bath has seen a 18% annual increase, the average price in Cheltenham has increased by 14%, Bournemouth has increased by 8%, Swindon and Bristol by 5%, and Gloucester has increased by 3%.

The highest premium threshold in the South West is in Bath at £970,000, and Cheltenham is second at £775,000.
