In previous years the historic town of Leamington Spa was voted as the third best place to live in the UK by the Times national newspaper. Many people are drawn to the area by the excellent schooling facilities available, shops, parks and surrounding countryside. As a previous Britain in bloom winner, the town has several key parks including Jephson Gardens, Victoria Park, Royal Pump Room Gardens, Mill Gardens, The Dell and Newbold Comyn. The town is also known for its excellent schooling facilities.
The town of Warwick offers an excellent array of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities. State and private schooling is within walking distance, with Myton, Warwick Prep, Warwick School (boys) and Kings High (girls). Access to the Midlands motorway network is also within easy reach with nearby M40 (junction 12) and M42 with access to the M1, M6, Birmingham International Airport and Birmingham NEC.
The historic town of Kenilworth is loved by locals and visitors alike. Its charming streets and independent shops offer an enjoyable day out, and the imposing Kenilworth Castle provides a fascinating glimpse into the area’s rich history. It’s also home to two theatres and The Cross – a pub and restaurant that was awarded a coveted Michelin star in 2014. Coventry is just over six miles from home and offers all of the amenities and leisure facilities you’d expect from the Midlands’ second-largest city. A number of beautiful locations nearby are an ideal setting for walking or cycling, including Kenilworth Common, Ryton Pools Country Park and Abbey Fields.
Harbury is located about five miles south-east of Leamington Spa and three miles south-west of Southam. The village remains one of the most popular villages in the area. It is a thriving village with a great sense of community and boasts a Church of England Primary School, Doctor’s Surgery, three public houses, a Post Office, two general stores, a Chemist and a Hairdresser. There is a well-used Village Hall, an active church community, a community-run Library and Cafe, and a large number of vibrant and successful community groups.
Bishops Itchington offers plenty of amenities: including a primary school and Busy Bees infant school. There is also a village store, fish and chip shop and The Butchers Arms public house. The village also has its own church and community centre. Further education in the catchment is available in nearby Southam and Kineton where school buses run to both. Access to the Midland motorway network is close at hand with junction 12 of the M40 and train links into London Marylebone from either Leamington Spa or Banbury.
Long Itchington is a lovely Warwickshire village to the east of Royal Leamington Spa and just down the road from the historic market town of Southam. The village offers everyday amenities with a local Co-op and a choice of excellent public houses, six to be exact. There is also a primary and pre-school.
There are shops, a school, pubs and amenities in the nearby villages of Cubbington and Offchurch. Leamington Spa and Warwick provide for good private education along with Princethorpe and its school also close by. With quick access to the M40, linking to the Midlands motorway network and the Airport at Birmingham, together with fast rail links to London from Leamington Spa and Coventry all makes Cubbington well placed for communications.
Weston under Wetherley is a picturesque village and civil parish in the rolling Warwickshire countryside, located three miles northeast of the closest town Royal Leamington Spa. Weston Under Wetherley is one of the most sought-after villages in the area and is conveniently located close to the larger village of Cubbington. There is the local primary school in Cubbington and senior pupils can go to school in either Southam, Leamington Spa or Warwick which are close by and offer some of the best schooling in the Country. The Red Lion pub and restaurant can be found at the neighbouring Village Hunningham and in Cubbington there are local shops including a Sainsburys local and two village pubs. There are lovely well-equipped playing fields in the village and well-supported village hall.
Knightcote is a hamlet nestling in the county of Warwickshire. It is a rural settlement and has a great community spirit. Knightcote grew as a village due to the good water at the spring, at Springwell farm. The spring is clearly viewed on the roadside as you walk around the village. There is great access to motorway links, including the M40 which is just a short journey down the road, acting as a convenient area for commuting to Birmingham, Coventry and London. Convenient rail links are easily picked up at Leamington Spa, Warwick Parkway or Banbury.
Fenny Compton has a primary school with Southam and Kineton being good choices for secondary schooling. There is also a wide variety of private schools and shops within Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and Leamington Spa.
Chesterton is a hamlet set within Warwickshire in the centre of England. ‘Chesterton Windmill’ Warwickshire’s most famous landmark, overlooks the Parish with views towards its very ancient church. Whilst being in a quiet rural setting with beautiful far-reaching views Chesterton is well connected.
