Oxshott is one of the most salubrious places to live n Surrey, it is sought after for its private and gated estates including The Crown Estate which backs onto the woods of The Princes’ Covert, It is named after Prince Leopold of Belgium who lived at Claremont House, a short distance away. Now it is a fabulous place to walk and ride (with a permit) as it covers nearly 900 acres and is a great place for Sunday strolls…finishing at a local gastro pub for a Sunday Roast.
It has a lovely selection of shops in the village high street and is a short drive to Esher for Waitrose and a fast rail links to London and it is a 5 minute drive to the A3/M25.
There is a large choice of private and state schools to choose from in the area and both Guildford and Kingston with a large selection of shops are a short drive away.
Cobham is known affectionately as The Beverley Hills of Surrey for the glamour and celebrity lifestyle from the WAGs of the Chelsea football players whose training grounds are situated in the heart of the area.
It is a fabulous combination of glamour, niche high street shops and restaurants and countryside; it has all the feel of London life and it is minutes from glorious country and riverside walks. In fact, it is a few minutes drive to The Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty and if you drive to Esher close by you can be in London within half an hour.
There is a plethora of great schools to choose from including the well-known and much sought after International ACS and recently opened is the Ofsted 1 rated Cobham Free School, a state school, which caters for students from nursey to sixth form.
