The Property
The Old Tythe has an interesting history, firstly as a village bakery serving the surrounding villages, later as the village stores. Today it is one of the major houses of this pretty village. Although not listed it sits amongst the listed houses. The property, some 15 years ago, underwent an extensive refurbishment, introducing some 120 tons of 10 year old air dried English oak beams which support the first floor. This natural oak has a bees wax finish. The local tradesmen installed all of the oak on-site, including the oak panelled doors and skirtings.
