Welcome to Basin Howe Farm, a Georgian five bedroom family home brimming with original features and unique quirks. Step through to the double height entrance hall of this enchanting home and admire the parquet flooring. At Basin Howe Farm enjoy the luxury of two distinct living rooms each offering a different atmosphere.
Each sitting room has its own log burning stove in an ingle nook fireplace. Rustic wooden beams extend across both rooms, reflecting the country setting of this home whilst also mirroring the warm tones of the wooden skirting boards. Beneath your feet oak flooring completes the scene of rural rusticity. Between both sitting rooms is the study, ideal as an evening snug or teenager's retreat, this space is secluded from the rest of the house with it's own entrance.
Family time can be spent in the spacious kitchen – dining, cooking, completing homework and even relaxing with friends.Warm coloured cupboards convey an air of country chic, further emphasised in the exposed beams and stonework throughout this sociable kitchen. In the middle, a solid wood island creates a cosy dining space as well as the perfect place to bake homemade cakes ready to leave next door for the weekend's holiday let guests. French doors lead to the secluded conservatory gently sheltered courtesy of it's positioning.
As you stroll back through the hall, period wall panelling painted a tranquil green enhances the Georgian features plus the beautiful bespoke stained glass ensures light bounces through.
Upstairs each bedroom at Basin Howe Farm affords its own quirks and pleasures.
For cottage quaintness and indulgent relaxation, head up the stairs and into the master suite. Bright, light and gently elegant, admire the view through the windowsill which frames a view for all seasons: in the winter months, look out over the frost-kissed fields which come summertime are covered in a blanket of luscious greens. Note the barn style doors providing storage solutions. Sneak a peek through to your en-suite. The decor in here subtly brings the soothing sensations of the East Coast to this rural retreat.
The family bathroom steals the show, contemporary curved glass shields the walk-in shower and freestanding roll top bath with shower head stands proud. The room is completed with a bidet.
All five bedrooms are located on the first floor and individually blissfully serene when you are most in need of rest and rejuvenation.
AMBER COTTAGE Amber Cottage sleeps 4 and is perfect for families. It has period features with double height lounge and oak beams. Children love the twin bedroom on the mezzanine floor.
The large ground floor bedroom has en suite access to the stylish wet room. The wet room has level access and state of the art thermostatic shower.
The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and is easily accessed from the open plan lounge.
Amber Cottage has wheelchair access through double doors with a low threshold and a gently sloping path from the car park. All the ground floor is level so this is the most suitable cottage for people with mobility problems and has been assessed by VisitEngland as being suitable for people who may need to use a wheelchair some of the time. The wet room also has full wheelchair access.
Amber is right beside the Pod summer house and the Play House. Amber and Topaz have the option of an interconnecting door.
OPAL COTTAGE Sleeps 4 and is the most popular cottage. The lounge is double height with double aspect cartshed windows, log burner, brick and stone feature walls and oak flooring.
The bright and spacious kitchen/diner is in a garden room to die for with views of the garden on three sides. It has everything you need for self catering plus direct access to a decking area over the wildlife pond with new furniture. Perfect for morning coffee, al fresco dining or those pre dinner drinks.
Two good sized bedrooms both are en suite – one on the ground floor with a huge Super King zip'n'link bed which can be used as full sized twin beds, the second bedroom is accessed via its' own staircase with King size wrought iron bed, exposed wood beams, a feature stone wall and en suite shower room with great water pressure so your morning shower will make your day.
JADE COTTAGE The huge lounge has large windows and solid oak flooring. This cottage won a "Customers' Choice" Award two years running.
There are two en suite bedrooms on the first floor. One bedroom has a feature window looking out towards the Bronze Age burial mound and a King size wrought iron bed.

TOPAZ COTTAGE It is architecturally stunning with a wealth of period features – stone walls, arched windows and wooden beams. This cottage won a "Customers' Choice" Award in 2016.
There are two generous en suite bedrooms to sleep 4 plus a baby . There is great water pressure so the showers will make your day. The kitchen is very bright and light and well equipped for self catering.
This cottage can be linked with Amber Cottage to sleep 8.
For people with walking difficulties all of the downstairs is level and there is a ground floor bedroom with an en suite shower room.
Amber and Topaz are right beside the Pod raised summer house and Wendy House and share a large patio which catches the afternoon sun.
GROUNDS Offering 3 acres of secret gardens and a further 5 acre paddock/field, 4 stables and tack room plus large garages and workshops.
Basin Howe Farm is ideally situated. A mere 12 miles to Scarborough seafront. This area of Yorkshire offers foodies great farm shops, local butchers and cafes to enjoy delicious cakes and lunches plus traditional country pubs. Set on the edge of stunning cliffs with its castle and wide beaches, Sea World aquarium, restaurants and shops.
You can easily access the stunning North Yorkshire Heritage Coast with Robin Hood's Bay and the popular Whitby with its cliff top abbey ruins, scenic harbour, fishing and boat trips and world famous fish and chips. Just down the coast is the charming resort of Filey with wide sandy beaches and rock pools. There are local fishing lakes and golf courses at Ganton, Filey and Kirbymoorside.
Other tourist attractions in the area include Flamingo Land, Castle Howard and the historic charming city of York
