Handel Cossham passed away in 1890 and the mine was sold to Bristol United Collieries. 1914 saw a new owner, Sir Frank Beauchamp CBE an industrialist who owned mines in Somerset. He was the first Baronet of the Beauchamp Baronetcy and a city counsellor for 39 years. One of the mines chimneys still stands in the grounds today and can be seen from the house and formal gardens.
