“We used to live in London but on a visit to Broadstairs in 2003 we fell in love with the beaches and the town and decided this is where we wanted to live. We then found an old coach house that was a bit of a wreck but was in such a fantastic location as it is only five minutes walk to the sandy beach at Dumpton Gap in one direction or the lovely George VI Memorial park on the other. So we decided to buy it and develop it initially as a holiday home but ultimately it became our permanent family base and where we have brought up our children. As we were creating it for our own use we took plenty of time to build it to a very high standard, using top quality materials and eventually moved in during 2007. It was designed with entertainment in mind and it is always full of people over Christmas and during the summer months, when it really comes into its own. This particularly applies to the terrace where there are plans in the pipeline to have it covered but these have not as yet been approved. We will be sad to leave the house we have created but we are about to start a new chapter in our lives so we hope that another family will be able to enjoy it as much as we have.

 

Broadstairs town centre with its wide range of individual shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and beaches is not far away and we are only just over half a mile from Dumpton Park Station although journey times are a little longer than if you go to Ramsgate station. From Ramsgate you can get the high speed train to London in about an hour and a quarter. Broadstairs is a delightful town with annual events such as Folk Week, the Dickens Festival and the Food Fair. It is also includes a local cinema and theatre, the excellent North Foreland Golf club, a bowls, tennis, rugby and cricket club and is not far from the Westwood Cross shopping centre, health clubs and a cinema and casino complex.
