About this property:
Located in the affluent suburb of Buckhurst Hill, this modern semi-detached three-storey townhouse occupies a corner plot within a peaceful gated close of just 14 houses. Close to Epping Forest and forming part of the Essex ‘Golden Triangle’ with Chigwell and Loughton, Buckhurst Hill boasts a wealth of boutique-shops, great places to eat out and excellent schools, as well as easy access to London’s city centre via the central line.
It’s a modern-build house which has been well looked after; two years ago the ground floor was completely re-modelled to a very high standard, with an extensive back and side extension adding a state-of-the-art kitchen. There’s a skylight in the living area which lets in a huge amount of light and bi-fold doors offering excellent access to the garden, which has a ‘sun-trap’ decked area.’
The current owners favourite space is the open-plan kitchen and dining areas, and you can see why – with breakfast bar, high quality fixtures, and a granite work surface in the kitchen area it is perfect for preparing everyday evening meals and for when you are entertaining large groups of friends. For when you prefer some relaxation time the light and airy lounge has underfloor heating to keep you cosy in the winter.
We have lived here since the house was built 10 years ago; it was a rarity to find a new house built to such a high standard in a gated road just a stones-throw from good amenities, so we jumped at the chance to live here. Most of the houses are still owned by the original owners, testament to what a nice place it is to live. The corner plot ensures extra privacy and a larger garden whilst the tucked-away road is quiet with an intimate community feel to it. We are a two-minute walk from the central line, within touching distance of local shops and excellent schools, and a 10-minute walk to Woodford Broadway and the upmarket Queens Road shopping street.
We love the quiet and safety of the private road; the children can play out safely. There are plenty of trees and green space, making it feel like you’re miles away from city life, when in reality it’s within touching distance.
It’s a lovely neighbourhood of people who get together for social events, like celebrating the Queen’s jubilee with a street party.
We’ll miss our neighbours and being a two-minute walk from the central line.
