Wisbech Road, March, Cambridgeshire, PE15
Alexandria House is a beautifully presented home set in a generous south west facing plot of approximately 0.75 acres with open field views to the rear. The current owner has completed an extensive refurbishment of the property which now offers over 3300 square feet of accommodation.
A luxurious kitchen breakfast room is finished with granite worksurfaces, a central island and integral appliances and sits alongside two further reception rooms and a study. The games room/potential annexe could also be used as additional accommodation such as a living/family room or bedroom. Upstairs the principal dual aspect bedroom benefits from a recently refitted en-suite while the two further double bedrooms have access to the family bathroom with spa bath.
Outside, the property sits back from the road with an abundance of matures trees and a large front lawn. Brick pillared cast iron gates open onto a block paved drive offering ample parking and access to the garaging. A patio runs across the rear elevation of the property and is an ideal space for entertaining and enjoying the far-reaching views beyond the large lawn.
"Myself and my late wife had been developing properties for many years and decided it was time to finally find a project to make our forever home. When we saw this property, we fell in love with the huge open frontage, long driveway and garden space overlooking continuous fields and beautiful sunsets," says the owner.
"We moved into the property in 2017 after stripping everything down to its beams. The entire house was renovated and installed with mod cons, including a two-person spa bath, CCTV systems, electric gates and more which transformed it into a modern home brimming with character and original features, such as the stone open fireplace."
"The garden is my pride and joy. There are many beautiful birds flying around and the visiting deer are always a special sight, along with other woodland wildlife. I watch the sun set every day in the open fields to the back from the comfort of my living room. The garden is great for entertaining and even better if you have grandchildren! It's spacious enough to kick balls around and has a conker tree in the centre. My daughter always dreamt of holding her wedding reception here as the land is ideal, and we also held various summer garden parties. The front of the garden is large and is full of flowers in the summer. The house is set far back from the road and has an electric gated entrance and long driveway which makes it very peaceful and private."
"My favourite room in the house would be the kitchen. It's a large space, great for entertaining the family, and overlooks the garden where I can spend my days bird watching. My wife was very house proud, and she even had a smaller, separate kitchen created just for cooking! The main kitchen was therefore kept 'for show', and the appliances haven't been used once - they still have all the wrapping on. It has spotlights, modern decor, granite island and large open windows letting lots of light into the room."
"It is a lovely community to live within and the neighbours are always there to help if needed. Everything we need is easily accessible. Sadly, my wife passed away in 2017 which is the reason I am now leaving our dream home. It is simply too big for me on my own and I'd like to be near my family and grandson," concludes the owner.
