Historical note: Mystole House was built in the 18th century by Charles Fagge on the site of an earlier 16th century property built by John Bungey, Prependary of Christ Church Canterbury and his family owned it for the next century. The last family to own the estate as a single dwelling were the Pomfrets who purchased it in the late 1890s. During WWI it was used by the Royal Horse Artillery who stabled their horses at Mystole and it was commandeered by the army in WW11.
