This well-proportioned room with attractive slate flooring incorporates plenty of glossy white storage units, a large contemporary range cooker, a double integrated fridge and space for a dishwasher as well as room for a good sized table and chairs. “We fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw it and it has been a wonderful home over the past 12 years. During that time we have enjoyed refurbished it with a new roof, cast iron guttering and creating the terrace. We have particularly enjoyed researching the history of the property, gathering information as far back as 500 years. However it is now time to downsize and move nearer to family. It is very quiet and peaceful, and only a few minutes’ walk away from a lovely traditional pub and 1000 year old church. We are not far from Dover for trips to the Continent and the A2 for Canterbury and London. While Dover Priory station is only three miles away and from there the fast train will take you to St Pancras in just over an hour.

 

There are excellent grammar and private schools nearby as well as the very popular Guston C of E school. The cottage is not far from the expanding village of Whitfield that includes a primary school, hairdresser, doctor’s surgery and a vet as well as a post office, a pub, a garage and the Ramada hotel. There is also a village hall that offers a number of activities and you have access to a Tescos superstore and a number of other large, retail outlets that are very close by, while Dover town centre includes a number of individual shops, bars and restaurants. Motoring enthusiasts can enjoy racing at Lydden circuit and sailors can join the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club, while golfers have a variety of choices from the Walmer and Kingsdown Golf Club or Broome Park to the Championship courses at Sandwich and Deal.

 

We have spent many a fond memory in the beautiful garden, from planting new flowers to sitting back and appreciating the wonderful wildlife. It has also been a wonderful spot to entertain friends and family on the cosy winter nights. Our own winter wonderland.”
