"We loved the area, however although our house at the time was very nice, I'd always had a hankering to design and build my dream home. "The house sits on four acres of land and my aim was to create a garden that would beautifully complement the style of the house, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I designed a huge patio terrace, which sweeps around two sides of the house and overlooks the large lake – another of my indulgences – and the rest of the space is laid to lawn and dotted with mature trees, so it has a parkland look and feel. The entire property is edged with a deep border of yet more large trees so not only have we been able to enjoy utter peace and privacy, but also the outlook is leafy and green and just beautiful. It's a real slice of paradise and I've no doubt that the new owners are going to absolutely love living here."

Favourite Room: "One of my favourite areas has to be the vast space that incorporates the library, lounge and conservatory, which all flow seamlessly into one another. Beams were added to that part of the house as well as a lovely big fireplace, so despite being exceptionally spacious, it has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere."

Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area: "When you sit out on the terrace and look across the lake to the trees beyond, you feel a million miles from anywhere, and yet in reality everything you might need is no more than a stone's throw away, and that's the real beauty of this location. Heckington has a good range of shops and amenities, and for everything else I usually head into nearby Sleaford."

Favourite room or unique feature: "I wanted the bedrooms to be every bit as luxurious as the living accommodation, so they each have their own en-suite bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes."

What they'll miss most / why they are leaving: "I'm moving because the property is simply too big for me now, but there's so much that I'll miss when I leave," says the owner. "This really is an exceptional home and I've thoroughly enjoyed living here for the past sixteen years. "

The property is conveniently located for accessing the A17, A15 and A52. The pretty market town of Sleaford, which enjoys a variety of shops and eateries is located approximately 5 miles away. There is a variety of schooling in the district including two excellent grammar schools for both girls and boys.
