SELLER'S INSIGHT We purchased the cottage as it was in need of renovating which we were excited to take on, plus the location was just perfect as it sits between where we both work, and is nestled in stunning countryside. The landscaped garden, the countryside views, and watching beautiful sunsets from a peaceful seating area will be greatly missed. We have two favourite rooms, the first being the sitting room with the woodburner lit, and second, in the summer, the garden room with the doors open to the garden. We are positioned close to Lavenham, Long Melford, and Bury St Edmunds whilst being surrounded by fields. Also being close to the local pub which serves great food! We carried out a complete overhaul to make the most of a deceptively spacious cottage and enhanced the historical features in the process. The house is fully renovated and ready to be loved and we can continue renovating another property.
STEP INSIDE With a wealth of character and spacious accommodation, this welcoming cottage delights from the off. The porch entrance leads into a beautiful sitting room via a wooden latched door. This is superbly presented with wood-burner, exposed beams, and carpeted floor. Step through into the dining room with a beamed ceiling, and stairs leading to the first floor. The light floods into the rear of the property and fills each and every room with a sense of joyfulness and peace. The kitchen/breakfast room has red and black clay floor tiles set in an attractive design, with column beams separating it from the dining area. There are a good selection of wall and base cupboards with wooden preparation surfaces over, integrated fridge/freezer, electric oven, and gas hob (LPG). The red and black clay tile flooring continues into the kitchen area with a chess board pattern. Leading on from the kitchen is an exceptional bathroom (the first of two in the property). This has a white suite with large walk-in shower, wash basin, WC, and tiled surround. Last but by no means least on this floor is the superior garden room, with large French doors to the beautiful landscaped gardens that afford breath-taking views over the neighbouring fields. This a room to be relished all year round.
Upstairs there are three welcoming double bedrooms, and a family bathroom. The master bedroom is exquisite, and simply stops you in your tracks. Such a stunning design, with views through a glass Juliette balcony across the Suffolk countryside.
The property has been finished to an extremely high standard, and presented with thought, care, and attention to the finer detail.
STEP OUTSIDE The property is approached via a shingled driveway providing parking and has a low wall to the front, and hedging to the right. The rear landscaped garden is a delightful blend of lawn, shingle, wooden paths, and has been divided into a selection of areas to be enjoyed by family and friends. There are a variety of flowers, plants, and shrubs, encased by box hedging and railway sleepers. In front of the garden room is an inviting dining terrace, and there are various seating areas throughout the garden. The rear of the garden is open and blends seamlessly into the fields beyond enabling you to be at one with the Suffolk countryside. Simply position your chair and soak in the views.
